Ashley Barnes Signs New Two Year Burnley Deal

Ashley Barnes signs new two-year Burnley deal

Burnley have announced that Ashley Barnes has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

The 33-year-old forward, who has been with the Clarets since 2014, has made 16 appearances under Vincent Kompany this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

Barnes has been a key player for Burnley over the past nine years, scoring 54 goals in 297 appearances. He has helped the club win promotion to the Premier League twice and played a role in their Europa League campaign in 2018/19.

Kompany is delighted to have secured Barnes' future at the club.

"Ashley is a great example for our young players," said the Burnley manager. "He's a hard worker, he's dedicated to the club, and he always gives 100%. I'm looking forward to working with him for the next two years."

Barnes is also pleased to have extended his stay at Turf Moor.

"I'm delighted to have signed a new contract with Burnley," said the forward. "I've loved my time here and I'm looking forward to continuing to play my part in the club's success.

Barnes' new deal is a clear indication that Kompany is building a team that can challenge for promotion back to the Premier League. The Clarets are currently 10th in the Championship, just four points off the play-off places.
